It's that time of year again, when the question, "What are you going to be for Halloween?" somehow sneaks into every conversation.

The general population is becoming more online with each passing year, so how about dressing up as your favorite 2025 meme for trick-or-treating? There are plenty to choose from.

Why not put a pantsuit on and don a cheeky smirk to become the Japanese Salarywoman? Or perhaps, get your squad together and be Adrian's infamous friend group for some cringey fun?

If you have 99 friends to join you on All Hallows' Eve, dress up as a gorilla and pay homage to the viral 100 Men vs. 1 Gorilla debate. If it's a couple's costume you're looking for, blast some Coldplay on a Bluetooth speaker and keep hiding your faces like the Astronomer CEO and his mistress.

Seriously, there are so many more to pick from. Need some help picking? We've narrowed it down to 10 here.

If you don't dress up as any of these, you're sure to see a couple of kids wearing these costumes. It's better to know the internet references than be caught in unc status, stuttering the numbers six and seven. That'll get you tricked for sure.

Italian Brainrot

By far the biggest genre of character-based memes from this year is Italian Brainrot. The animal-object hybrids made Italian become the funny language earlier this year when the AI-generated gibberish creatures landed on the web.

There are too many to name at this point, but here at Know Your Meme, we tried our best to document the most notable of them. We know that it all started with a sneaker-wearing shark named Tralalero Tralala. It gets a little blurry and dizzying after that.

For the sake of our sanity, we'll give you the guides to three of the most popular Italian Brainrot characters. If you or your kid wants to dress up as Brr Brr Patapim or Bombardiro Crocodilo, we're sorry, but you're on your own.

Luckily, all of these characters have a combination of some animal and an object, making them all relatively easy to replicate in a DIY Halloween costume.

Tralalero Tralala

First, we'll do Tralalero Tralala, the strange walking shark.

Required Items:

1) Over-sized light blue Nike sleep slippers
2) Shark head mask
3) Grey Morphsuit

Tung Tung Tung Sahur

As one of the more popular brainrot characters, Tung Tung Tung Sahur has recently become the center of a viral song. It's a wooden stick holding a baseball bat, so it's pretty easy to pull off as a costume.

Required Items:

1) Brown Morphsuit
2) Small brown plastic trash bin
3) White and black paint or paper cut-outs
4) Wooden baseball bat (or plastic if you wanna be safer)

Ballerina Cappuccina

For the girls, Ballerina Cappuccina is an excellent choice of brainrot. The character is a ballerina with a fresh, artisanal cup of coffee for her head.

Required Items:

1) Ballerina costume
2) Small white circular laundry basket
3) Scissors, to cut out the bottom of the basket
4) White bed sheet, to wrap around the basket's outside
5) Marker or paint, for the face

67 Kid

No kid is more notorious in 2025 meme lore than the 67 Kid, who went viral when he quoted the 67 meme at a basketball game and was labeled a cornball by his peers.

His floppy Ice Cream Hair and Essentials Fear of God hoodie embodied some of the most prominent middle school boy fads from this year. At first, he was the blueprint for 6th-grade boy supremacy, but he flew too close to the sun like Icarus. Now, the stereotype of a Mason 67 is all anyone sees.

His likeness then mutated and devolved in the following months, as he became uncanny. Eventually, he was a full-blown internet cryptid, known as SCP-067. His mouth is seen agape in the viral photoshops, about to swallow entire worlds like the most powerful of anime entities.

Required Items:

1) Blonde men's wig
2) Essentials Fear of God grey hoodie
3) Baseball Lifestyle shorts

A Barbershop Haircut That Costs A Quarter

The A Barbershop Haircut That Costs A Quarter meme is confusing in more ways than one. First of all, the original video is from 2021, and at the time, it just blended into the rest of the wholesome musical theater content on the web.

It shows an actor named Kevin James Sievert, who plays a paperboy in Newsies. He circles behind the other cast members, visibly beaming and ready to deliver his line. What more is there to know, other than the fact that he "had the entire audience in less than 10 seconds."

The video resurfaced this year when it got the accuracy reenactment treatment on TikTok. But then something strange happened. Meme editors began mashing it with a bunch of other "brainrot" videos, forming the genre Adrian Eeffoc Brainrot.

If you really want the most dank group costume on the block this year, each one of you should go as a different character in the Adrian Eeffoc lore. But if you're riding solo, like Sievert was on stage that fateful day, you might as well just go as him and steal the costume contest in less than 10 seconds.

Required Items:

1) Brown newsboy cap
2) Green-and-blue plaid flannel
3) Brown suspenders
4) Blue jeans
5) Yellow handkerchief

Ibiza Final Boss

British lad Jack Kay sent out on a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Ibiza this year and became the Ibiza Final Boss when his picture was posted on social media. The iconic look is almost too 2025 to fathom. For many, he perfectly embodied the modern raver chav.

His bowl cut, chin-strap beard and pearly white veneers make him instantly recognizable and prime for a Halloween homage. Since Halloween is a much smaller affair in the U.K., it's the perfect opportunity for a unique and memorable outfit across the pond.

You're just going to need some tacky gold jewelry and sunburned tattoo sleeves to truly pull this one off.

Required Items:

1) Brown bowl cut wig
2) Gold-and-black aviator sunglasses
3) Athletic black tank top
4) Fake gold chain
5) Fake veneers
5) Fake beard and mustache
6) Temporary arm tattoos

Phillies Karen

For the moms out there, why not embrace the Karen stereotype this year by dressing up as this year's most recognizable Type A lady, the Phillies Karen.

In the original viral video, the bossy woman in question insisted that a homerun ball picked off the ground by a father and given to his son was rightfully her's because it landed near her seat. Quickly, she descended upon the father and son, intimidating them with her shock of white hair.

How terrifying!

Seriously, if you want to scare anyone who's ever worked a customer service job, dress up as the Pihillies Karen this year. Unless you live in Philadelphia, because if you do, you might be indistinguishable from the other ladies walking around the neighborhood yelling at each other about which candy belongs to what kid.

Required Items:

1) Phillies jersey
2) Red sweatshirt
3) Clear lens black frame glasses
4) White pixie cut womens wig
5) Blue jeans

Performative Male

Another absolutely terrifying costume this year would be dressing up as a Performative Male. Like, imagine a haunted house, but it's filled with a bunch of liberal arts guys reading the first chapter of a book around every corner. That's called a Starbucks, and it's a thing of nightmares.

When consumer fads like Labubu toys, matcha lattes and Dubai Chocolate popped off this summer, a genre of men latched onto the visual signifiers and made Labubu Matcha Dubai Chocolate their whole identity. The general consensus was that they were trying too hard to get chicks (and failing).

"Performative" turned into a trending derogatory term for the type of guy, and after the cliché was identified, it was mocked in viral memes, video skits and even "performative male contests," which, to some, were more performative than the matcha-loving dudes themselves.

Regardless, the contests gave us a good template for what a Performative Male Halloween costume would look like. A lot of variations could come from this one, like, what would a "performative vampire" look like? "One blood latte, please."

Horse Race Tests

Few online phenomena from the year match the overload of organic, creative fandom that the Twitter video game project Horse Race Tests achieved in April. It was created by game developer and oddity guru Blake Andrews (@snakesandrews), who simply shared recordings of the game's test runs on X / Twitter.

The premise is simple. A bunch of blobby horses bounce around a race track like DVD symbols. The first to reach the end of the maze and eat the carrot wins and punishes all of the suckers who placed their bets on losing steeds.

As each race went increasingly viral, viewers realized that one orange horse, named Jovial Merryment, was quickly achieving GOAT status, while others, like the cyan horse, couldn't stop running into walls.

But it was all love, really, because as more people tuned into each day's race, the lore expanded on each of the characters, making them an easily replicable and fluid choice of Halloween costume, especially if you're running with a group of friends.

It's just that one of you is going to have to be orange horse, and that might come with its own baggage, depending on how one views the undisputed champ.

@touchstarvedgemini THE GOAT HERSELF JOVIAL MERRYMENT‼️ threw this together to try to break out of a creative slump and honestly? i kinda cooked 🐎 this is a hell of a way to bring my acc back to life 😭 makeup design is insp by @unicornic AMAZING designs hehe #hrt #horse #horseracetest #horseracingtest #jovialmerryment #yuri #wlw #doomedyuri ♬ KEEP UP – Odetari

Required Items:

1) Orange Morphsuit
2) Orange animal ears
3) XL googly eyes
4) Pack of gold medals

Chicken Jockey

A Minecraft Movie was released this year, and the reviews were surprisingly solid. There was a time when a lot of people thought that the film was going to flop. It was around the same time that they first heard Jack Black say, "Chicken Jockey!"

In hindsight, it's odd that it was ever considered a bad line of dialogue, because when the movie went to theaters, the quote dominated the audience reaction, perhaps a little too much.

Teenagers and children were addicted to yelling out every memorable Minecraft Movie quote that they were once making fun of online. Some even came to the theaters dressed as Chicken Jockeys, which is just a baby zombie riding a chicken.

All of this led to the Chicken Jockey Incident, when two dudes brought a real chicken into their showing. Regardless, Chicken Jockey stands out as the best Minecraft Movie meme for Halloween inspiration.

Required Items:

1) Zombie Minecraft mask
2) Light blue T-shirt
3) Cardboard boxes
4) White, yellow and black paint
5) Lots of tape
6) Yellow leggings

Ashton Hall

No one's morning has been the same ever since they saw fitness influencer Ashton Hall's Morning Routine, which, to be fair, would kill most men if they had to do it every day — the cause of death would be laughter.

Ashton Hall is not a normal guy. In the original video that shocked people online, Hall wakes up with tape over his mouth, dunks his head in a bowl of ice water and rubs a banana peel on his face. Between each timestamp, he's chugging a bottle of Saratoga spring water to stay hydrated for his high-speed sprint.

It was just hard for a lot of people to take him seriously, especially after seeing him levitate in the air for four minutes during his death-defying 7:36 Pool Dive.

Hall took the memes well, though. He's the kind of guy who would probably embrace a bunch of people dressing up as him. He's also the kind of guy who would just dress up like himself for Halloween. He's a little full of himself, basically, but that's why the internet loves him.

Required Items:

1) Mouth tape
2) Fake gold chain
3) Short black swim trunks
4) Saratoga spring water
5) Banana peels (eat banana first)

Eye of Rah

In the ancient times of 2025 memedom, the legend of Chopped Chin birthed a Property in Egypt, which made the Eye of Rah rise from the ashes. If none of this sounds familiar, try digging through your blood memories or old bookmarks and remember the legend of the one-eyed Hood Cryptid.

It all started with a video from an Instagram user named Rashad Bowens, who just wanted to react to something he saw on his Explore feed. Then, a German kid named Jeremiah Springfield magically transformed him into a cyclops with a single red braid sticking out of his head like an alien antenna.

The bait-and-switch joke rapidly transcended the original media, as the Eye of Rah's staring, doe-eye(d) face was added as an exclamation point to any random clip.

The Eye of Rah is a solid choice for this year's Halloween, as it will show others that you were niche before NicheTok even existed. All you need is one eye. That should be easy.

Required Items:

1) Red braid extension
2) Arts and crafts pipe cleaner, to keep braid upright
3) Cyclops sunglasses
