Are 'Labubus' Demonic? The Viral Conspiracy Theory Linking 'Labubu Dolls' To The Demon 'Pazuzu' Explained

Perhaps the hottest growing conspiracy theory on TikTok has some parents worried that Labubu dolls are demonic.

Theories about the wildly popular toys supposedly having demonic origins are going viral across social media, with some even claiming Labubu is based on the demon Pazuzu.

But is there any truth to these conspiracy theories, or is this just another case of satanic panic? Here's what you need to know.

Why Do People Think 'Labubu Dolls' Are Demonic?

Labubu Dolls are a collection of toys designed by Hong Kong-based artist Kasing Lung that look like mischievous little rabbits. The dolls have been going viral on social media for several months now, resulting in massive demand for them.

Lung has said in interviews that the design of the dolls is inspired by Nordic folklore, specifically stories about elves.

However, towards the end of 2024, some religious influencers started posting videos expressing concern over these origins, suggesting that Nordic folklore is Pagan and therefore, demonic.

One early example of this panic happened in November 2024, when an exorcist appeared on a podcast and suggested that the dolls should not be bought by Christians if they represent demons.

The theories spread even further in 2025, with TikTokers like @tailahofficial gaining over 480,000 views in May 2025 for a video attempting to link the dolls' origins to paganism and discouraging Christians from buying them.

How Are People Reacting To 'Demonic Labubu Doll' Theories?

The theories about Labubu dolls being demonic have only gotten bigger throughout 2025. Some people are continuing to spread the theories, suggesting their ties to Nordic folklore go against Christianity, despite Lung saying they are based on elves, not demons.

On the other hand, many others are defending Labubu dolls and calling out those who claim they're satanic.

Some people are even making memes about the panic, such as TikToker @alejandroordonezgon05, who posted a wholesome, funny video of her younger sister bringing her Labubu to church to get blessed because of the conspiracy theories.

Is Labubu's Design Based On Pazuzu?

One of the most viral examples of the panic over Labubu dolls being demonic comes from now-deleted TikToker Nocorious.

In her video, she films herself under an image of a Labubu doll and an AI-generated image meant to represent the Mesopotamian demon Pazuzu. The video suggests a relation between the two, as if Labubu was based on Pazuzu.

There is no evidence to suggest that Labubu was based on Pazuzu. Many have even pointed out that the AI-generated Pazuzu image does not resemble traditional drawings of Pazuzu in any way, suggesting she's making the connection up to spread the conspiracy theories further.

One X user even went viral with over 300,000 likes for posting a screenshot of the video and calling it "religious psychosis."
