Everyone who's used an Uber or similar rideshare service before knows that you should probably check to see if the car you're getting into is actually the driver you ordered. But it appears that in one guy's case, he was urged to enter the wrong car, despite never ordering an Uber in the first place.

But who is the viral fake Uber driver, and is he even real? And why is the video of him threatening a passerby going viral as a TikTok audio? Here's everything to know about "I'm your Uber driver, get in!"

@brew_stew i know its a weeknight but itll be good for the soul #getin #uber #besties #meme #fyp #foryourpage #uberdriver #kidnapped #thirstythursday ♬ original sound – brew_stew

Where Did The "I'm Your Uber Driver, Get In!" Video Come From?

On December 21st, 2023, a TikToker named @swa9in uploaded a video in which a man seems to be threatened by a man in a truck, who darkly stares at him and furiously proclaims that he is his Uber driver, and that he needs to "get in." The video spread rapidly online, earning about 19 million plays in three weeks.

However, the man seen hurling threats at the passerby in the video is @swa9in himself, and it's simply a comedy skit. That doesn't make it less funny, though.

One of the first memes to come from the skit was a post by @sacred_sun_music on TikTok, which was posted on December 26th:

@sacred_sun_music Just a joke #saltburn #jacobelordi #eyebrowpiercing #fyp #xybca ♬ Im your Uber driver get in – sacredsun

The meme by @sacred_sun_music earned about four million plays in two weeks. From there, TikTokers continued to pile onto the joke until it became a trend on the platform in early 2024. As of January 12th, the audio clip gathered about 21,000 uses on the platform.

@ivannamunoz5 I’m your Uber driver…. GET IN! 😂 “mom, what if I accidentally say the bad word?” 🤣🤣 #uberdriver #uber #funnyvideos ♬ Im your Uber driver get in – sacredsun

How Can You Use The Audio To Make A TikTok?

While not every use of the audio will make perfect sense given the specificity of the skit, there's not really a limit to what you can do with this meme. Some people are doing lip dubs. Some people are reposting the original clip with a meme-like caption. Some people are recreating the video altogether. So feel free to have some fun with it.
