A mysterious retro video game based on Olive Garden is going viral on social media, and some people are shocked they've never heard of it before.

The supposed game has been circulating on social media for years now, and recently, its theme song was uploaded to YouTube, inspiring a second wave of interest in the strange Nintendo 64 title.

But does the Olive Garden game even exist? Here's what you need to know.

What Is 'Olive Garden' N64, And Is It Real?

The first known image of a supposed Olive Garden N64 cartridge was posted in May 2020 by the nintendo_memories Instagram page.

In the post's description is a review for the game, reading, "Since we can’t go to Olive Garden in real life, may as well go in the virtual 64-bit world. Olive Garden 2: More Breadsticks is a real treat to play right now. Three stars."

Since then, numerous other images of Nintendo 64 cartridges relating to an Olive Garden game have gone viral, one of which was even posted to a video game-collecting subreddit.

Unfortunately for Olive Garden fans, the game does not exist. The most popular photos of the supposed game were created by artist FakeHandshake on Instagram, while others are fakes created by anonymous social media users.

How Is 'Olive Garden' N64 Used In Memes?

The idea behind the Olive Garden N64 meme lies in the absurdity of the premise. There aren't a whole lot of video games based on chain restaurants, but it's funny to imagine what a restaurant-based game might look like.

The fact that the Olive Garden N64 game is rated "M" for mature is also worth noting, as comments wondering why the game was given this rating always pop up when the memes are posted.

Recently, YouTuber gsosa.3 brought the meme to a new level by posting a video sharing their interpretation of the title screen music for the game.

This was picked up by X / Twitter user and YouTuber Wavy Web Surf, who posted a meme pretending the game is real, writing, "I don't see many people talk about this game much, but it was honestly one of my favorites to rent from Blockbuster back in the day."
