Another week, another meme roundup, and this time, we've got a healthy mix of political nonsense and genuinely good meme formats.

At the top of the list, we've got the return of a fan-favorite Family Guy scene that kind of insists upon itself, a beautiful takedown of crypto scammers from an unlikely source and yet another meme that pokes fun at everyone's favorite punching bags — CEOs.

Then, we had a dump of memes that came out of the presidential inauguration on Monday, with one of those memes coincidentally aimed at Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, along with the very interesting reveal of Donald Trump's new presidential portrait.

If you're out of the loop on any of this, here's a roundup of the five biggest memes of the week so you don't feel left out.

It Insists Upon Itself

On Sunday, TikTok was banned in the U.S. for an entire 12 hours, but before it was (temporarily) banned, users decided to take part in one last trend using one of Family Guy's most beloved bits: the "It Insists Upon Itself" scene.

For those who aren't aware, the scene sees Peter Griffin make one final confession to his family before they all drown, the secret being that he does not like The Godfather. Why? Because "it insists upon itself."

This scene has been the subject of memes here and there for years, but TikTokers recently turned it into a whole trend in which they made one final, jaw-dropping confession. For instance, one now-viral example saw Charli D'Amelio admit that the haters were right about one of her biggest controversies.

The popularity of the trend inspired Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane to give some lore on the scene, claiming that it was inspired by an actual criticism by one of his college professors, who said that The Sound of Music "insists upon itself."

Kronii Coin

Well-known VTuber Ouro Kronii became one of the biggest memes on X / Twitter this week after she turned a hack by a cryptocurrency scammer into content gold.

It all started when Kronii's YouTube channel was hacked by someone trying to shill a cryptocurrency. The hacker set up a live stream on the channel that was meant to promote the meme coin.

Fortunately, Kronii was on top of it and got her channel back fast. In response, she started her own livestream to make fun of crypto scammers and meme coins in general by pretending to launch a scam coin called "$KRONII." The stream itself saw Kronii rambling on with nonsense crypto jargon and her fans took things to the next level with memes.

Following the stream, X users began posting memes about the coin all over the platform. Many of the memes had people acting as if the coin actually launched and turned out to be a big scam, resulting in other VTubers losing their money and reaction channels making videos about the incident. Whether you're into VTubers or not, there's a lot of fun to be had with this meme.

Matching CEO Names

Ever since a particular incident involving a CEO took place last year, much of social media has had CEOs on their mind, and the latest proof of this comes with the "matching CEO names" meme.

This meme imagines a world in which the CEOs of various corporations have names that closely match their company's names. Think "Ford Knight" as the CEO of Fortnite or "Younes Tuber" as the CEO of YouTube.

It's a very similar meme that's derived from similar, tried-and-true formats, like the real name Google searches meme. It also gives us a glimpse into a very interesting alternate universe where CEOs must be named after their respective companies.

Truly, the people yearn for a world where Know Your Meme is run by Knowles Yourmemulous.

Inauguration Memes (Melania's Hat, Zuckerberg Staring, Bush Expressions)

The Donald Trump inauguration recently took place in Washington, D.C., ushering in the second term of one of the most divisive U.S. presidents of all time. Like any event that the man touches, it resulted in a good handful of memes — no matter whether you like him or not.

One of the most viral memes of the night was Melania Trump's hat, which drew some very fair comparisons to the hat worn by McDonald's legend, The Hamburglar, among many other things.

Mark Zuckerberg also got memed on after he was caught taking a peak down Lauren Sanchez's shirt (fiance of Jeff Bezos), resulting in a photo that will probably haunt him for the rest of his days.

Another banger meme from the inauguration focused on George Bush's hilarious facial expressions while at the event, which had some comparing him to a toddler during a school recital. Turns out that when you get a bunch of goofballs together in a room, they do goofy things that forever leave a mark on the internet. Who knew?

Trump Presidential Portraits

This week was heavy with memes about ol' Donny Boy, with the release of his kind of ominous-looking presidential portrait receiving all sorts of mixed reactions and jokes online.

When situated next to Trump's old portrait, the differences in the new portrait are very clear. This time, Trump seems to have embraced all the "Dark MAGA" energy he could muster, as if to say he's done messing around, means business and he's letting everyone know it with a glare that's so cartoonishly evil it's almost unbelievable that it's not some AI-generated abomination.

Side-by-side, the two portraits also make a pretty good meme. Social media took off with the format late last week into the weekend, using it to compare the differences in two somewhat similar things, like the Full Metal Alchemist anime's ad-break audio.

People also took the opportunity to poke fun at J.D. Vance's portrait, which, in contrast to Trump's, was arguably so boring that it took heavy doses of Photoshop to squeeze any comedy out of it. Get on your boss's level or get back to your couch, buddy. We've got a long four years of memes to get going.
