"I got one more in me" is one of many NBA quote cards that have gained much traction online. Kevin Carter's line from a Bleacher Report interview is one of the first instances of using their infographics in memes and various Twitter circles. The blandness of these quotes makes taking them out of context incredibly easy, and that's how Twitter users get creative with using the memes.

But how did this somewhat uninteresting and basic quote turn into such a popular reaction image? Here's everything you need to know.

Where Is The Line From?

The Famous "I Got One More In Me" quote is taken from a Bleacher Report infographic about retired veteran NBA player Vince Carter. On June 5th, 2019, the @BleacherReport Twitter account posted this infographic with regards to Carter returning to the league for his 22nd season.

How Is The Line Used In Memes?

After its initial upload in 2019, the image became more prominent in 2022, with people using it more and more as a reaction image online. One X user @ShoyaIshidaStan used it to make fun of Amber Heard. In 2023, another reply tweet used the image in response to YouTuber alpha m., making fun of a series of videos he made about cheating on his partner.

What Are NBA Quote Cards?

The initial release of this original quote card infographic led to a whole new series of memes called NBA quote cards. Vince Carter's "I got one more in me" was one of the first of these cards to become a meme.

Soon after, other examples of quote cards being used as reaction images included Michael Jordan's "I used to pray for times like this." Another example also included Mbappe's "I will be there no matter what."

Many of these memes saw a lot of use online in various ironic contexts or recontextualized as reaction images, particularly on X.
