The release of the second Wicked movie has unleashed an avalanche of memes lately, and the cast just can't stop giving us more material.

The incredibly expressive and memeable Cynthia Erivo has been dominating the meme narrative so far, but her co-star Michelle Yeoh, who plays Madame Morrible in Wicked 2, has recently decided that she wanted a turn at becoming an internet icon too.

Fans have noticed that Yeoh has been obsessively repeating one catchphrase during interviews and press events, "MM, flip it around, Wicked Witch!"

She's so proud of this observation that she cannot stop telling people about it, complete with her little hand gestures that spell out "MM" and "WW."

Here's a recap of what it means, when people noticed Yeoh's new bit, and how it caught on online.

Where Did The 'MM Flip It Around, Wicked Witch' Meme Originate?

Michelle Yeoh's character, Madame Morrible, is revealed to be a villain in Wicked: For Good, and Yeoh has arguably made it her entire personality during the press tour for the film.

Her "MM to WW" bit first appeared in an October 8th, 2025, Fandango interview with the whole cast, where she talked about Madame Morrible turning evil after being blinded by her own ambition.

Yeoh then suddenly pivots and brings up her hands to say, "MM, flip it around, Wicked Witch!" That video gathered over 370,000 views in a month, but it was only one in a series of certified Michelle Yeoh bangers to come.

In a November 17th, 2025, video posted by the Hollywood Reporter's YouTube channel, Yeoh could be seen delivering her new catchphrase while rocking a short bob and fluffy green dress, giving TikTokers the perfect screengrab to post in every comment section ever for the coming few weeks.

Later that same day, she dropped the same line on the Today Show and also on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and in the coming weeks, she made sure everyone knew about her "MM to WW" theory.

The whole thing reached critical mass when TikToker @mjeedag posted a compilation on November 21st with a caption that read, "Michelle Yeoh genuinely loves the MM to WW bit so much."

Understatement of the century. The video blew up, gathering over 4 million plays and 490,000 likes in two weeks, and officially launched a thousand more memes.

How Did 'MM, Flip it Around, Wicked Witch' Memes Go Viral?

The internet just couldn't get enough once they locked onto Yeoh's dedication to this one joke. On November 24th, 2025, @britandco on TikTok posted a new compilation of Michelle Yeoh "MM to WW" clips with the caption, "Me and bestie when we find a new vocal stim."

The painfully accurate post racked up 1.6 million plays and 400,000 likes in a week, and people rushed to the comments to crib about how they haven't been able to stop saying it either.

TikToker @remfinlay got creative with a meme they posted on November 25th, mashing up Yeoh's clips with Lady Gaga's classic "There can be a 100 people in a room" speech, linking two memes that had been targeting the same corner of TikTok for the past couple of weeks, and pulling in 1 million plays and 300,000 likes since.

On December 1st, 2025, user @rtwinther on Instagram posted a seizure-inducing edit showing Michelle Yeoh's "MM to WW" gesture, gathering over 90,000 likes in two days and proving that people weren't getting tired of watching her explain that M looks like W upside down any time soon.

The meme also broke Wicked fandom containment when actor Milo Manheim posted a TikTok explaining that his initials are also "MM," which means he too can flip it around to "WW" for Wicked Witch.

The montage of Milo sharing his revelation with his family and friends gathered over 10 million plays in just three days.
