What Is 'Regitube'? The Fan-Made Pokémon And Its Memes On Twitter Explained
The so-called Fakemon or Pokémon characters created by fans are a common tradition in the fandom of the Japanese franchise. The creative minds of the fans have inspired Pokémons like Ballio / Pinnister, Tentaquil and many others.
Recently, a Legendary Titan pokémon inspired by the original quartet Regirock, Regice, Registeel and Regigigas, popularly known as the Regi Pokémon, has gone viral on social media: Regitube, a Water-Type fanmade golem made entirely out of swimming rings.
Let's investigate how a viral TikTok video was the basis for this fanmade Pokémon concept.
Where Did The Original 'Regitube' Video Come From?
Before Regitube, there was the Tube Shack monster, which is a video (shown below) of a water park employee trying to hold as many life tubes all over his body. The video amassed over 3 million plays and 600,000 likes in four months.

How Did 'Regitube' Became A Meme?
Pokémon fans who saw the original Tube Shack monster video felt inspired to create a Fakemon similar to the existing Legendary Regis. Thus, Regitube was born. One of the earliest examples of fan art was posted on November 24th, 2023, by X user @TheYisusOne, who shared an in-game video as if the character was in the Pokémon game.
Damn I remember this fight from that one Pokemon game, Regitube is the coolest Regi if you ask me. https://t.co/GJZephKCML pic.twitter.com/XynL3Cx76k

Fans even added more lore to the character going as far as creating stats for Regitube. For example, on November 24th, 2023, X user @MAGNEDETH explained how Regitube stats and tubes would function, saying "The tubes would provide terrible physical attack and defense, but excellent special attributes."
