What Is The 'Bronify' App And The 'LeBron James Glazing Songs?' The Remixes Taking Over TikTok Explained

The "glazing" of LeBron James by his devoted fanbase has taken a musical turn on TikTok this month, manifesting in a series of LeBron James-themed songs and remixes that are being hosted on a Spotify knock-off app called "Bronify."
All of the songs are former "Top 40" hits that now have "LeBron Glazing" lingo, like calling him, "My glorious king," or, "the G.O.A.T." (with honey being poured on him, of course).
Some NBA fans were already tired of the LeBron hype. However, it's undeniable that he's a generational talent, just like it's hard to deny that these viral remixes are hilarious.
So, where did these "LeBron Glazing" songs come from? Who's making them? Plus, what is "Bronify?" Is it a real app? Let's explain.

Where Did The 'LeBron James Glazing Songs' Come From?
A TikToker named @itsokayspade made a song last month in which he repeated LeBron's first name over and over again.
The song was quite soothing and the TikToker joked about trying to "make a song about LeBron" but not singing anything else other than his name because he's the "goat and stuff."

The video's audio started a viral TikTok sound that was used by others on the app thereafter.
"Song got me blushing," said one TikToker in their video's caption. What was the video? It showed James and streamer Duke Dennis on a date, playing on the romantic, melodic and overall unserious nature of the track.

What Are Some Of The 'LeBron James Glazing Songs?'
There has been a slew of LeBron James-themed songs that have landed on TikTok since the original. Many of them were made by TikToker @.ilyaugust. The creator has been on a tear, using an app called BandLab to make the songs.
Here's a list of some popular ones:
- "The LeBron That I Used To Know" (remixing "Somebody That I Used To Know" by Gotye)

What Is The 'Bronify' App?
"Bronify" is a knock-off Spotify app that focuses on LeBron James. The app was created on Vercel. Unfortunately, it's no longer online but it was archived on the Wayback Machine a few days ago.
The app hosted a bunch of the LeBron Glazing remixes and other LeBron content. A lot of TikTokers and YouTubers reacted to it before it went dark.

What Are Some Other 'LeBron Glazing' Memes?
"Glazing" is a slang term that means idolizing someone to the point where you look silly and overenthusiastic. Glazing LeBron James is akin to a lot of NBA discourse, mostly when people are talking about who the greatest basketball player of all time is. "Is the G.O.A.T. LeBron or Michael Jordan?" is usually the debate.
Memes about glazing LeBron surfaced in early 2023 when people found this one TikTok account called @suspectsports. The admin seemed to be in love with LeBron. However, the account was likely parodying LeBron fans based on its "suspect" username.
Regardless, the cultural commentary was apt. People wanted to make fun of LeBron's superfans who talked about him like how a poet speaks about their muse.

Speaking of poetry, one of the most notable LeBron Glazing memes is a poem that starts with, "Boy oh boy, where do I even begin?" It became a copypasta online amid a series of "glorious" LeBron edits that used the song "You Are My Sunshine."

The concept of "LeBron Glazing" is still a potent source for memes today. James is touching 40 and fans of the Los Angeles Lakers and basketball as a whole wouldn't mind witnessing greatness if he makes an NBA Finals appearance this season.
But of course, there is a limit to the LeBron bandwagon. Calling him, "my glorious king," seems to be the line.
