What Is The 'Cause We're Playing Bendy' Meme, and Where Does It Come From?
Back in late 2019, gaming YouTuber FGTeeV, a family-friendly creator known to make videos with his kids, posted a music video titled "I'm a Gurkey Turkey."
The video, which has recently gone viral and gained over 110-million views since then, is about FGTeeV's son, Mike, introducing him to some of the most popular horror games of the time, including games like Granny and Bendy and the Ink Machine.
When he introduces his dad to Bendy, Mike sings, "This next one might get you messy." His dad answers, "Why?" Mike responds, "'Cause we're playing Bendy."
Then, in mid-April 2026, TikToker @toasty373 posted an edit of this particular scene that loops Mike and his dad's back-and-forth for about a minute. The video went viral with over 7.2 million views in about two weeks.
The edit's original sound is now going viral and has inspired a big lip-dub and dance trend online.

As the edit went viral, TikTokers began using the original sound, consisting of the back-and-forth between Mike and his dad, as a lip dub and dance meme in which one person plays both roles.
One of the earliest examples of the trend was posted by TikToker @brodyjboling on April 20th. In the video, the screen has been split down the middle. A video of him lip dubbing to Mike's part plays on the top, and a video lip dubbing to Mike's dad plays on the bottom.
Other TikTokers are now recreating this video, turning it into a viral trend that even Mike and FGTeeV have gotten in on.
