What Is The 'Domer' Meme? The Baby Bart Simpson Brainrot Edits On TikTok Explained
A cute, mischievous baby Bart Simpson from The Simpsons has become the subject of a new meme on TikTok, using a soundbite of the character saying, "Domer!" The audio comes from a season 4 episode, showing the diapered ne'er-do-well greeting his father, Homer, after a long day.
Although that's the original context, the Domer memes on TikTok seem far removed. They flash different colored Barts with check marks. But there's always one evil, red Bart at the end, saying the whole thing wrong with a distorted voice.
Curious about the "Domer" meme and what it means? Let's try and explain where it came from and what it is.
What 'Simpsons' Episode Does The 'Domer' Meme Come From?
Baby Bart Simpson says, "Domer," in season 4, episode 10 of The Simpsons, titled "Lisa's First Word," which aired on American TV back in 1992. It's a flashback scene, showing a young Homer and Marge on the stoop of their first apartment in Springfield's "Lower East Side."
Homer approaches Bart, who's seen waddling around in a diaper. Instead of saying, "Daddy," Bart says, "Homer!"
After many tries, Bart still won't say, "Daddy," but when it finally sounds like he's about to, he instead says, "Domer!" a portmanteau of "Homer" and "daddy."
Where Did The 'Domer' Meme Come From?
This month, a TikToker named @sammythemayor posted a video that first used the Domer soundbite. It flashed different colored Barts in a sequential order, pairing each with a check mark and a corresponding "ding" sound effect.
The fourth and last Bart is different from the rest. He's red, and when he's shown, a warning symbol displays, indicating that he's dangerous. A siren sound effect can then be heard, as if the creature just breached containment.

How Is 'Domer' Used In Memes?
Domer has evolved slightly since the original video. Most videos still follow the same format of check marks and warning signs. For those who don't know the original reference, it seems abstract.
The format is based on a precursor meme known as the "Big Forehead Homers Guide." It surfaced in 2024, on a Fandom page for fans of the internet meme "Glaggleland." When looking at the meme, the inspiration is immediately evident. It shows four Homers. One of them is hazardous.
Just like the "Big Forehead Homers Guide" memes that came before them, the Domer memes are equally brainrotted and silly. Just like the mutation of the Domers shown in the original video, this meme trend has become equally mutated over time.
Some are now just obsessed with the way "Domer" is said by the young Bart. It's thus earned "Accuracy Reenactments" and other forms of homage across social media.
