What Is The 'Ma Got Pranked' YBG Wallace Meme?
The YBG Wallace image is an AI-generated edit of Wallace that comes to us from a TikToker of the same name, @ybg.wallace. It was first posted on May 3rd, 2026, in a video that first shows YBG Wallace standing still, then shows him showing the OK symbol with one hand.
Later, the TikToker explained how they made the image, first using Grok, then using Gemini to give Wallace a fade and a face mask. The TikToker has explained that "YBG" means both "Young, Black and Gifted" and "Young, British and Gifted."
The meme really blew up when an Instagram user posted a low-res screenshot in which they purportedly sent the meme to their mother as a "prank," captioning the screenshot, "Ma got pranked."
How Is 'YBG Wallace' Used In Memes?
YBG Wallace blew up at the end of May through early June 2026 on Instagram Reels, also spreading to X / Twitter.
As a meme, the image of YBG Wallace holding up the "OK" sign is often attached to unrelated captions as an image macro format, the results often making little to no sense.
On X, the image went viral and quickly inspired a ton of edits, including edits where YBG Wallace is put on the cover of a Young Thug album, a few "Son" and "Folk" memes and more.
YBG Wallace is also being touted as a caricature of British youth, depicted as chasing money and wearing hype clothing. Some of the memes use the image alongside Gen Z slang terms, with most of the memes simply trying to be as confusing as possible.
