The meme is captioned, "Me and the ✨💜DIVAS💜✨ drinking our matcha." As far as we know, this is the earliest known version of the meme, although it hasn't officially been confirmed.

The meme plays off a whole lot of other memes about matcha that have popped up in 2025, including the Labubu Matcha Dubai Chocolate meme and the Matcha Rave memes.

These memes treat matcha as a stereotypical girly pop-type drink, are largely ironic in nature and have ties to brainrot meme culture.

How Is 'Me and the Divas Drinking Our Matcha' Used In Memes?

The "Me and The Divas" meme gained significant spread throughout September 2025, leaking outside of TikTok to sites like X / Twitter and Reddit.

Some prominent variants redraw the original version of the meme, replacing the girls with other characters, including an Invincible War Variants version of the meme and a Dark Mango Psychology edit of the meme.

Now, the meme is also being referenced in TikTok videos that do not explicitly show the original image. These videos rely on the viewer knowing the meme, and some are getting big views and likes on the app.

Some of these videos combine the memes with a poorly sung amateur recording of the K-Pop Demon Hunters song "Soda."
