There's a rap song called "Bacon, Egg and Cheese" that's going viral on TikTok right now. For many, it answers the simple question, "How you know I'm Dominican?"

The running joke plays on the song's merengue beat and its New York-centric lyrics that make it inseparable from American-Dominican stereotypes. Skinny jeans and wide-neck shirts are common visuals.

The trend's inspired numerous reactions from Dominican internet figures like Fanum as it has gone viral recently.

However, what is the "Bacon, Egg and Cheese" song? Where did the memes come from? Let's explain.

What's The 'Bacon, Egg And Cheese' Song From TikTok Memes?

The original song is by New York rapper Wavyrioo, also known as Wavy Rioo, and it's called "Bacon, Egg N Cheese." It was released in early 2022. It features other NYC rappers like D-Dotty and DellyDell.

Much of the song is in Spanish except for the chorus, in which the breakfast sandwich order is repeated with an emphasis on the, "Cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese, cheese."

What's The 'How You Know I'm Dominican' Meme?

A common joke associated with the "Bacon, Egg and Cheese" song is the question, "How you know I'm Dominican?" The format goes like this: a photo of a buff Dominican man is shown, seen wearing tight clothes like skinny jeans and a wide-neck shirt, set to Wavyrioo's song.

The gag question is being asked by the gift-wrapped man pictured. With all of the pieces of the puzzle, the answer to the question is supposed to be obvious, like, yes, of course, you're Dominican.

It's said to be obvious because of a few stereotypes about Dominican men. They're known to wear tight clothes and enjoy funky merengue beats, like the one used in Wavyrioo's song.

New York City also has a large Dominican population, which inherently intersects with the "bodega" culture of the city, represented in memes like the "Ocky Way."

How Is The 'Bacon, Egg And Cheese' Song Being Used In Memes?

Although the song was created in 2022, "Bacon, Egg N Cheese" didn't amass viral memes until this year, mostly because of the "How you know I'm Dominican?" jokes.

Since then, a slew of edits and viral videos using the song have surfaced on TikTok, mostly at the expense of Dominican men. However, they largely seem to be enjoying the trend.

For one, streamer Fanum, who's a famous Dominican-American, laughed about it with friends this week, showing that he's in good spirits about being included in the edits.
