Not everyone is thrilled about becoming an internet sensation, as it can often lead to a wave of constant mockery and online bullying.

However, this is not the case for American actor Jacob Batalon, who feels honored for being bestowed the title of "CEO of Sex," a joke that has gained widespread attention across social media since mid-2019.

Batalon, known for his role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) Spider-Man franchise, has unexpectedly embraced his status, which has been spawning creative jokes and memes treating the actor as a sort of "Rizz Lord."

Let’s explore the origins of the "CEO of Sex" meme and Batalon’s thoughts on his viral meme celebrity status now that it's making waves again.

Why Is Jacob Batalon Called The 'CEO of Sex,' And Where Did The Meme Come From?

The label "CEO of Sex" emerged from a series of ironic memes featuring a photograph of Jacob Batalon dressed in a grey suit from the Spider-Man Homecoming premiere, accompanied by humorous text captions.

The meme's origin can be traced back to late July 2019, when it first appeared on the OKBR subreddit as a simple image macro format.

Batalon's seemingly innocuous picture quickly gained traction as a meme on social media, also known as "Jacob Batalon Saying Things" and "You Seem Chill."

How Is Jacob Batalon's 'CEO of Sex' Meme Used Online?

Jacob Batalon's picture in a grey suit rapidly spread across various social media platforms in 2019 and the 2020s, including Reddit, Instagram and iFunny, where users paired it with witty and ironic captions as if the actor is giving sex advice to his followers.

For instance, in January 2022, Redditor R3D5KAR1337 posted a parody of the Wolf of Wall Street movie poster, photoshopping Batalon's face and the title "CEO of Sex."

Also in January 2022, YouTuber lemonman posted a parody trailer for a movie titled "SEX 2: The Multiverse of Madness" using clips of Batalon as the "CEO of Sex."

While most of the memes are simple image macros using the photo of him in the suit, many memes in the 2020s simply reference the "CEO of Sex" portion of the joke in a multitude of ways, humorously portraying Jacob Batalon as some kind of sex symbol or expert on the topic.

What Do Jacob Batalon and Tom Holland Think About The 'CEO of Sex' Meme?

In a March 2025 interview with Screen Rant, Jacob Batalon addressed the "CEO of Sex" meme while promoting his upcoming film, Novocaine, expressing that receiving such a title is, in his words, “an honor.”

Batalon also joked about the irony behind it, stating, “I feel like people come to me for sex advice all the time.”

Then, in late June 2026, while doing press tours for the film Spider-Man: Brand New Day, a fan showed co-star Tom Holland the CEO of Sex meme while he was signing autographs.

The moment of him learning about the meme for the first time was captured on video, causing a resurgence online.

During the same premiere of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Entertainment Tonight then shared a red carpet interview with Batalon discussing his meme, with Batalon saying that he had no idea what the "CEO of Sex" meme is about, but added that he's "flattered" by it.
