What's The Jaden Smith 'BROOO' Meme? The Podcast Interview And Why Big Boy Screamed 'Bro' Explained
A Jaden Smith interview on the BigBoyTV podcast has resurfaced in memes on TikTok because people are focusing less on Smith talking about "the political and economic state of the world" and more on the interviewer screaming, "Bro!" as loud as possible.
The clip is originally from 2021. Smith was seen as cringey back then for his objectively corny and "woke" take on people his own age, as some put it. But in big 2025, people are more cringed out by the overdone exclamation by his older host.
So, where did this meme come from? Why is it going viral this month? Let's explain.
Where Does The Jaden Smith Interview Meme Come From?
The original interview happened in 2018. Smith was a guest on the BigBoyTV podcast, hosted by radio legend Kurt "Big Boy" Alexander. Smith was 20 at the time of recording.
In 2021, the BigBoyTV YouTube channel decided to reupload a clip from the interview. At one point, Smith starts talking about how always hung out with adults more than people his own age. He does an impression at one point of a fellow Gen Z kid and Big Boy riffs on it by screaming, "Bro!" trying to match his energy.
Smith gets to his point after that, solemnly wondering, "Can we talk about the political and economic state of the world right now?"
What's The Copypasta And Transcript?
A lot of people want the video's transcript for copypasta use. Here it is in full:
I am very happy that I spent my childhood with more adults than I did with kids my own age because I was picking up more things from adults than I were from kids my own age. And I look- And I go around sometimes and I hang out with other people that are my age and they're just kinda [unintelligible].
Bro!
Bro! Look what I found! Selfie! I'm just like, dude, oh my god, can we talk about the political and economic state of the world right now?
What Is The 'BROOOO' Meme On TikTok?
So, the clip originally went viral in 2021. Twitter / X users found Smith's "deep" quote hilariously trite. There were a lot of memes about a childlike Smith not wanting to play games with other kids. Instead, he's shown contemplating "the political and economic state of the world."
However, the meme is viral this year because people are more focused on Big Boy screaming, "Bro!" The sudden cut to him with his mouth agape is objectively funny and his quick, eager reaction to dunk on young people was roped in with stereotypes about being a sad Unc who's scared of the youth.
The video has been edited to death with each edit becoming more and more absurd. Plus, a series of reenactments with 99% Accuracy have surfaced online, involving exact remakes of the podcast clip, down to every word and mannerism.

What Has Big Boy Said About The 'BROOOO' Meme?
The goal of these "99% Accuracy" reenactments is to get as close to 100% as possible. Someone's arguably achieved that because they recreated the meme with Big Boy himself in a viral TikTok video. It shows that he's in good spirits about the meme's resurgence.
