The bizarre memes have been shared on TikTok, Instagram, and X, leaving many confused about whether a random Chinese factory did in fact hire some of New York's Most Deplorable to promote their glycine manufacturing practices. The answer lies in a TikTok account that has a reputation for running Adam Friedland Show snippets through translators and AI voice software, with the High-Quality Industrial Glycine campaign being the latest in their exploits.

Where Did The 'Industrial Grade Glycine' Videos Come From?

To be clear, Shijiazhuang Donghua Jinlong Chemical Industry Co. has really been posting videos on TikTok advertising their chemical factory producing "high quality industrial grade glycine" since December 2023. Their videos have gathered a few thousand views over the past few months, but more importantly, they provided the exact script used in later iterations of the meme.

Why Did Dasha And Nick Mullen Advertise Industrial Grade Glycine?

Sometime in late March 2024, TikToker @gangstasportivik posted an AI voice parody of Donghua Jinlong's videos using Red Scare podcaster Dasha Nekrasova, adding a video of her twirling a red ribbon over footage of the glycine factory.

A few weeks later, the same account posted another AI voice parody clip using the likeness of Nick Mullen. He can be seen following the same script about Donghua Jinlong and their production practices.

Both videos gathered several 100,000 plays on TikTok, but they were also reposted to other websites to tally up millions of views.

This isn't the first time TikToker @gangstasportivik has tooled around with the likeness of New York podcast circles. In November 2023, videos of The Adam Friedland Show edited using AI voice modulators to sound Chinese made the rounds on TikTok and X.
