Who Are The MDFoodieBoyz? The Food Review Podcasting Kids Making No Waves Online Explained

The MDFoodieBoyz are going viral online for making a food review podcast in which they say so much while actually saying nothing at all.
The gaggle of four middle-school-aged boys, each a snide nickname bestowed upon them by their fans, have been rolling out weekly episodes for just a few months, but they have already accumulated a not-so-loyal following of fans and haters who are enraptured by the vacuous and unsubstantial conversations.

The template of each podcast episode is pretty simple: The boys decide on a type of food, cuisine or fast-food brand to try, and they each give it a review based on their unique palates.
This routine led to clips of the boys discussing what food to eat going viral on TikTok and Instagram Reels, with viewers cracking up at the disjoint between the boys' expensive studio and podcasting material and their inane conversations.
Here's a recap of the MDFoodieBoyz saga, and why, despite all the hate, people still love to listen to them.
When Did The MDFoodieBoyz First Start Making Videos, And What Made Them Go Viral?
The MDFoodieBoyz, named after their home state of Maryland, first announced their upcoming podcast on TikTok on October 21st, 2024, dropping a photo of the boys (and their bill-footing parents) in a swanky podcast studio alongside the caption, "Coming Soon."

On December 3rd, 2024, the MDFoodieBoyz posted their first full-length podcast episode to YouTube, with a clip in which they discussed how celery has close to zero calories being reposted to Instagram Reels and gathering over 150,000 likes.

This first viral video is also what gave each of the boys their respective nicknames: Chub Perm was given the nickname because of his heavyset build and Zoomer Perm haircut. Nonchalant Kid was given the nickname based on the Nonchalant Dreadhead meme, while McLovin was a reference to the Superbad character of the same name.
What Are Some More Notable MDFoodieBoyz Videos?
The podcasters' Reels continued to go viral in 2025, like one posted on January 1st in which they discuss the Chick-fil-A sandwich, receiving over 133,400 likes in a month.

How Did Internet Users React To The MDFoodieBoyz Podcast?
Many internet users poked fun at how lackluster each new podcast clip seemed to be, and how, despite being a food-review podcast, they never seemed to stray far beyond what was offered by their local fast casual or fast food restaurant.
On January 15th, Barstool Sports employee Kevin Clancey posted a Reel about the MDFoodieBoyz, gaining over 5,300 likes in a month.
Meanwhile, other internet users took to mocking the MDFoodieBoys by taking on an air of false intellectualism, as seen in a Talking Talk Tuah Reel in which the hosts break down a moment during the MDFoodieBoyz's pilot episode.
