Who Is 'Captain Brock Horner' And What Did He Do? The Viral Video Of A Fishing Guide Boarding Another Man's Boat Explained

A fishing guide in Florida has privatized his accounts, shut down his business' website and apologized after a shocking public freakout video went viral across social media this week.
The captain in question is named Brock Horner, and the video of him threatening another young fisherman by boarding his boat has inspired widespread backlash and even a police investigation.
So what exactly caused the incident, who is Captain Brock Horner and what was the fallout of the video? Here's what you need to know.

What Is The 'Captain Brock Horner' Video?
On April 2nd, 22-year-old fisherman Gage Towles uploaded a now-viral video to all his social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram and YouTube.
In the video, he's seen getting into a verbal altercation with Captain Brock Horner, a fishing guide in the area. Horner is mad because he thinks Towles failed to use his lights earlier that morning, almost causing him to crash.
Towles claims that he was using his lights and that Horner is mistaken. This doesn't stop Horner from arguing though, accusing Towles of cussing him out, telling him that he's a veteran and threatening to fight him. Horner then pulls his boat up to Towles' and forcibly climbs aboard, inciting fearful apologies and requests for him to leave from Towles.
The video gained millions of views and was reposted across social media as users shared all the information about Horner they could find, including his business site, Instagram page and an arrests.org page allegedly claiming he's been arrested 12 times in the past.
What Happened To Captain Brock Horner After The Video?
In response to the virality, Brock Horner deleted his Instagram account and closed his business website. Now, his lawyer has put out a statement claiming that Horner apologizes for the incident.
In the statement, he also confirms Horner's veteran status after some shared their doubts, claiming Brock suffered a brain injury during his service.
The statement goes on to read, "Brock’s business has been destroyed, his reputation damaged, and his family, including his wife and mother, have been harassed and even threatened." The end of the statement reads, "[…] just as Gage showed grace in the moment, I ask others to do the same now. Let’s hold people accountable — but also give them room to grow and make amends."
