Who Is 'Petra Parker?'

Petra Parker is an established Marvel Comics superhero character from the Spider-Man franchise.

She's mostly known for her appearances in Ultimate Spider-Man, including the 2015 animated series, where she's depicted as a gender-swapped, alternate-universe version of Peter Parker who goes by Spider-Girl.

Another version of Petra Parker appears in the Spider-Verse franchise, in which she's the daughter of Queen Mysteria and goes by the alias Spinstress.

However, in mid-August 2026, the internet rebranded Petra Parker as a post-transition, transgender version of Peter Parker.

This all started when X user @Zappyz_ made a post imagining how J. Jonah Jameson might react to Spider-Man transitioning to Spider-Woman, inspiring artist @0trebot to draw a comic depicting the situation.

How Is 'Petra Parker' Used In Fan Art And Memes?

The comic by @0trebot inspired a wave of fan art and memes over the following days that similarly depict Petra Parker as a trans woman who used to identify as the male Peter Parker.

Typically, these pieces of art seem to be inspired by Petra Parker in Ultimate Spider-Man, rather than her Spider-Verse counterpart.

Many examples of the art follow the same premise as the original comic and show J. Jonah Jameson embarrassing himself by accidentally misgendering the webslinger.
