There's an American woman in Pakistan named Onijah Robinson who's wreaking havoc at the moment. The local news in Karachi just can't get enough of her as she demands money, attention and the hand of her 19-year-old lover in marriage across several interviews and press conferences.
She was supposed to be in the country for only 15 days but has decided that she's now Pakistani. She doesn't want to go back to New York where she allegedly has two kids and a husband who she just divorced.
Maybe that doesn't matter to her because she now has several men in the country trying to court her. Unfortunately, her eyes are set on the teenager who originally convinced her to travel overseas.
Why are there so many news clips of this woman on TikTok, Twitter / X and the rest of social media right now? Who is Onijah Robinson and why is she in Pakistan? Let's explain.
Who Is Onijah Robinson?
Onijah Robinson is a 33-year-old American citizen who's from the Bronx in New York City. She seems to have a TikTok account called @styles1133 where she posts a lot of videos, mostly of herself in traditional feminine Muslim attire. She seems to be a practicing Muslim like the majority of Pakistani people.

She also has a business listed in her TikTok bio called Onijah Styles LLC. The company is registered in the NYC Company Registry. It's been a business since 2023 and it's listed in the Bronx. Its purpose is largely unclear but might have to do with beauty and skincare.
Robinson has said a lot about her past while in Pakistan. What's true and what's false is anyone's guess. She said that she got married in Utah in one video.
But after watching many of her interviews, she's secretive too. She keeps saying, "It's private," or against her religion to tell you about her business.

Why Is Onijah Robinson In Pakistan?
This story broke when a Pakistani social activist named Zafar Abbas posted a video to his Instagram about an American woman who was stranded in Karachi's main airport. The woman was Onijah Robinson and she'd apparently been staying in the airport for seven days without a flight home.
Abbas informed viewers that the Governor of Sindh had personally helped to extend Robinson's visa and get her a flight home. This was because of the strange circumstances that led her there.
According to Abbas, Robinson was invited to Pakistan by a 19-year-old boy, later identified as Nidal Ahmed Memon. He allegedly promised to marry her but when she showed up at his parent's home, they refused the marriage and would not let her enter.
This is why she went to the airport, to seek refuge.
How Has The 'American Woman In Pakistan' Become A Meme?
After Abbas shared his video, Robinson was put up at the Chhipa charity shelter where she was allowed to stay before her flight home. The shelter is run by Pakistani social worker Ramzan Chhipa who held a press conference with Robinson upon her arrival. This is because Robinson had become somewhat of a local Karachi tabloid topic in the days before.
The video of Robinson's press conference with Chhipa went viral on TikTok when it was shared by the official account of Pakistan's We News. Robinson's brash attitude and strange demands, like asking for $100,000, juxtaposed the mute men and women standing behind her and Chhipa's kind gestures. Her New York accent was hilariously out of place, making her vibe all the more American.

According to locals, like TikToker @mystapaki, the local press and Robinson have entered a symbiotic relationship. Newscasters are following her around, trying to farm more viral clips from her for their Pakistani audiences. Robinson is feeding off this, using the platform to levy her absurd takes.
Thus, a slew of viral videos are coming out of the country, seeping into the American web where people are also fascinated by the cross-cultural event.
Meme creators are then using her soundbites and clips for their own social media presences, treating her like a Literally Me character or idolizing her like a Girlboss in Core video compilations.

Does Onijah Robinson Have TikTok Or Instagram?
As stated previously, Onijah Robinson does seem to have a TikTok account called @styles1133. The account has been posting content since July of last year. Although we can't say for certain, maybe she met her 19-year-old lover on the app.
As far as Instagram goes, there's no clear answer as of right now. There are a couple of fake accounts impersonating her on there that are shilling meme coins, so beware.
