Lots of Redditors are a little confused with a massive influx of memes and posts using the Big Bang Theory term "bazinga" this past week. The term is covering meme and AI related subreddits recently following news that Google is working to implement their Vertex AI on the site. But how does posting 'bazinga' memes affect the AI? Here's what you need to know.

Why Are Redditors Posting 'Bazinga' Memes?

Earlier this month, Google announced a deal with Reddit to implement their Vertex AI on the site. This, according to the press release, would help enhance Reddit's search functions and other functions on the site. To do this, they've started training the AI on Reddit.

Some Redditors are taking this news as an opportunity to do a little trolling. They've decided to start using the term "bazinga," a joke phrase popularized through The Big Bang Theory, in as many memes and posts as possible with as little context as possible to confused the AI. The idea is that the AI won't know how to interpret "bazinga," leading to some potentially wacky results.

Will The 'Bazinga' Memes Really Mess Up Google's AI?

Since the campaign began, memes and posts using the term "bazinga" have taken over various subreddits, most notably the /r/sh*tposting subreddit. Many of the memes use the Sheldon's laptop format, while others reference the trolling campaign directly. The campaign has also led to a lot of posts asking for the context behind the random "bazinga" memes.

Some, however, have questioned whether or not the campaign will even work at all, or whether it will just end up being a certified Reddit moment. Some Redditors have suggested that there simply won't be enough people spamming the term to make a difference, while others claim that Google can just filter the term "bazinga" out of the AI, meaning it would just ignore this term.
