Look, I know we don't get along, but we really need you to sit down and read the latest edition of the Weekly Meme Roundup so you can stay caught up on all the biggest memes from the past week.

This week in memes, a new Amazing Digital Circus meme blew up in celebration of its finale, Palworld's new character Sekhmet reminded X / Twitter users of an old friend, a JPMorgan exec stole a trash can and got what she deserved and more.

Here are five of the biggest memes of the past week that you need to know about.

Brooke Sullivan

Hey, remember that actress from the 2000s, Brooke Sullivan? No? Well, that's because she never existed. But if you spent enough time on TikTok this week, you might've been gaslit into believing she did.

@ssoftblooms it would’ve been so good (the show was never aired) #fyp #model #viral #trending #2000snostalgia ♬ original sound – 𑣲𝑑𝑒𝑦

Brooke Sullivan is an AI-generated actress who was created by TikToker @ssoftblooms in mid-May 2026. Her premiere video shows a compilation of AI-generated footage from a fake 2000s teen show under the caption, "POV: you were going to be the next big 2000s actress until your show got shelved right before it was supposed to air."

The video blew up, and @ssoftblooms kept playing into the meme by posting video after video of Brooke Sullivan, many with a caption suggesting that her career was sabotaged. Some even suggest she was considered "too pretty" to be taken seriously, which is why she was sabotaged.

Many commenters fell for the videos and asked what Sullivan acted in, while others figured out that she was AI and started spreading her videos around on X.

Some people even got kind of mad about it. One X user who quote-reposted a video wrote, "AI is being used to reconstruct reality and history in the dumbest ways," while another complained about the idea of wasting water by using AI to generate actresses who never existed.

Sekhmet

The developers of the creature-catching game Palworld announced a big July update recently, and this past week they've got players excited with the promise of the Egyptian cat Pal Sekhmet, based on the Ancient Egyptian goddess of the same name.

Sekhmet is a blue and gold, bipedal cat girl with thick eyelashes, big paws and a design that immediately raised some eyebrows.

Palworld devs have never exactly been shy about adding what some see as fan-service Pals, especially fan-service towards furries, but Sekhmet reminded everyone on X of someone very specific: Ankha from Animal Crossing.

Ankha, of course, became the subject of a whole lot of thirsting back in 2021 with the infamous "Ankha Zone" animation. When you look at Ankha and Sekhmet side-by-side, it's hard to deny the similarities.

Sekhmet drew a lot of hype and inspired artists to whip up a ton of fan art and memes, including more than a few comparing her to Ankha.

Ethically Modified Memes

Evolutionary Human Sciences recently published a meme-related paper titled "Memeing Scientific Racism: The Digital Reframing of Racialist Ideologies," and the memes included in the paper, or rather, the memes not-quite included, inspired a whole format on social media known as "Ethically Modified Memes."

The paper discusses specific racist memes through an analytical lens. However, to avoid sharing and bringing more attention to these memes and exposing unwanting readers to them, the paper includes recreations of these memes that have been "ethically modified."

Basically, the memes have been boiled down to basic line drawings with big, awkward chunks of removed text that arguably make some of them kind of hard to understand.

This idea of ethically modifying memes blew up on X when they were posted by @sentientist, inspiring other X users to try out the format for themselves.

Naturally, users began taking some of the most offensive memes and viral images possible and recreating them into more ethical images, suitable for the overly cautious X scroller.

JPMorgan Exec Steals Trash Can

Following a very bizarre JPMorgan-related incident in April, another JPMorgan executive was reportedly fired this past week after she was caught in 4K stealing a Knicks-themed trash can from the Knicks Parade in New York.

@mel_aston Those trash cans didn’t stand a chance 😭😭 I don’t condone the bullying of this woman. I’m not going for it!! #knicks #knicksparade #knicksin5 #nyc #fyp ♬ original sound – Melrose Aston

In celebration of the Knicks' big NBA Championship win, a parade was held in New York City. This parade included custom trash cans, which featured a blue and orange color scheme and a basket-like design.

One Knicks fan, who happened to be an executive at JPMorgan, apparently decided that one of those trash cans would look great in her home.

She was filmed pouring the contents of one of the trash cans out onto the street and walking away with it, not a single care in the world. She was even filmed by another person riding on the subway with the garbage bin.

Unfortunately for her, the internet did not respond kindly. They criticized her for her behavior, turned her into a meme and found out who she was.

She was then reportedly fired from her job, and the trash can was returned, making this a pretty costly blunder. Sometimes, it really doesn't pay to succumb to your urges, especially when everyone around you has a camera on their phone.

Jax, Look, I Know We Don't Get Along, But…

Finally, we have a major meme from the final episode of The Amazing Digital Circus, so if that's something you're into and you haven't watched the finale yet, consider this a spoiler warning.

The "Jax" meme comes from a sort of flashback scene, where Pomni goes through Jax's memories. In one memory, the clown Kaufmo tells Jax that even though they don't get along, he might know how to leave the Digital Circus. For those who don't know, escaping the Digital Circus has been the protagonists' goal the whole series.

The meme itself was started on June 19th, 2026, by X user @forever_gf618. On that day, they posted a screenshot from the scene and edited a TV screen playing Gravity Falls into the background.

The caption further references Gravity Falls, reading, "Jax, look. I know we don't get along, but I think I might have found who the author of the journals is." If you're a Gravity Falls fan, that probably means something to you, and it's probably also a spoiler.

X and Bluesky users quickly saw the potential in the format. They started editing Kaufmo and using the caption as a phrasal template to make Kaufmo, or whoever he's representing, share some crucial information with the POV character, like how to do the 6-7 "hand thing."
