Between DeepSeek AI sending tech bros into a tizzy and Lyft getting hit with a lawsuit by one of the most meme-able events of the month, it's been an interesting week online.

On top of that, we had a throwaway Family Guy character become the star of his own meme, a Minion staring in the forest give us all the chills and some beautiful rabbit artwork become an unexpectedly powerful relatable meme format.

Here are the five biggest memes of the week that you should check out.

Dank Demoss' Lyft Lawsuit

Rideshare company Lyft was dealt a hefty lawsuit this week thanks to Detroit rapper Dank Demoss, who decided to sue the company after a driver refused to pick her up earlier this month, all captured in a now-viral video.

Dank Demoss was headed to a Detroit Lions watch party when the Lyft driver she'd called refused to pick her up. The driver was worried that his car was too small to fit her and that his tires couldn't handle her weight. For context, Demoss is around 480 pounds.

Despite offering her a refund and suggesting she call an Uber XL, Demoss decided her best course of action was a discrimination lawsuit against the company, which her lawyers seem to think is a slam-dunk win. Social media, however, seems to think otherwise.

The Detroit rapper quickly became the subject of memes across social media, mostly aimed at her weight. Many seem to find the lawsuit frivolous, especially considering how calm the driver remained throughout the interaction. The memes are undeniably brutal and the situation in general has us all on the edge of our seats, waiting to see the outcome.

Mr. Washee Washee

Family Guy has been pumping out the memes lately, and this week is no exception, with the rise of the iconic character Mr. Washee Washee, who just won't get off your screen.

The meme stems from an October 2024 tweet reading, "How do I get him off?" that shows Mr. Washee Washee stuck in an FL Studio production screen. The concept of this tweet blew up this month on sites like TikTok and X, with people editing Mr. Washee Washee into a variety of scenarios and desperately asking how to get him off.

Some of the more elaborate examples turn Mr. Washee Washee into a character from another series, like slapping him over Linda from Bob's Burgers or inserting him into a Peanuts comic strip next to Snoopy. The dude really is showing up anywhere and everywhere, giving this little-known, throwaway Family Guy character his time to shine.

DeepSeek

Chinese artificial intelligence large language model (LLM) DeepSeek is here to offer you an alternative to ChatGPT … as long as you don't want to ask anything about Xi Jinping or Tiananmen Square.

DeepSeek-R1 has been going viral this week, particularly for its burned-in censorship of controversial topics surrounding China and the Chinese government.

By reported metrics, the AI model seems pretty good, and it's considerably cheaper than ChatGPT, leading it to catch on with American tech entrepreneurs. It's also got some worried that the American tech bubble might burst in 2025, as heads turn, wondering why the operating costs of ChatGPT are so high.

Essentially, it's causing panic in a lot of people and resulted in some European and U.S., AI-related stocks dropping, which is never a great thing for people who understand that kind of stuff.

What you really need to understand is that there have been a lot of memes promoting DeepSeek popping up online, to the point where many think they're astroturfing or being used to push DeepSeek onto Americans and steal their data. Is it true? Who knows, but maybe we could push some of the focus from banning TikTok to banning this? Just a thought.

Minion Staring in the Forest

Speaking of AI, this week also saw a spooky, likely AI-generated Minion staring in the dark woods go viral as a hopefully not-relatable meme format, and honestly, I hope that little yellow goober never finds his way out.

Like many of our most beloved memes, the Minion image was first uploaded to a Russian War Thunder forum in January 2024 because why not, right?

Somehow, TikTokers picked up the image this month and started attaching creepy captions to it, like, "ik where you live" and "how I look at my boyfriend as soon as he takes his hands off of me." It's kind of like a relatable meme, only you probably don't want to relate to anything this Minion represents.

Of course, not all the examples are that creepy. Some are pretty innocent, like a version that reads, "do you hate me be honest," to which the answer is always "yes" if it relates to Minions.

Irena Aizen Rabbit Paintings

To end things off with some class, a few pieces of real art by Israeli artist Irena Aizen have been going viral recently that depict some very peculiar rabbits frolicking and just straight-up vibing in idyllic fantasy worlds.

Irena Aizen has been painting rabbits since 2010, but this month, TikTokers decided to take these paintings and turn them into meme gold.

Many of the paintings depict two rabbits hanging out together, making the art perfect for captions like, "me and my sibling after my mom told us to stop fighting (we were talking to each other normally)," or, "Me and twin after saying something at the same time then thinking we are sharing brain cells."

The paintings might look creepy at first, but when you really take the time to let them sit with you, there's something incredibly peaceful and comforting about them. These rabbits are calm, lovely creatures who just want to hang out with their pet seals and stare at you with their big eyes.

With or without captions, there's something very intriguing about them, making them a perfect subject for memes.
