This week in memes, Squidward got some friends and went viral on Twitter. A man who will forever be known as the "Doorbell Chud" made a meme into reality. Elvis Presley's "Hound Dog" became a huge deal on TikTok, and more.

Here are five of the biggest memes from the past week that you need to catch up on before Monday hits.

Squidward "When You Have a Friend"

The lovably depressed Squidward Tentacles inspired a big meme about making friends over on Twitter / X this week as users began editing him and an endless parade of clones in fun, pop culture-filled ways.

The original version of the meme, posted by Twitter user @soberkravitz, shows Squidward frolicking away from his home next to a clone in a differently colored shirt.

The attached caption reads, "When you have a friend," making for a simple and wholesome meme that a lot of people could either relate to or be envious of, depending on the status of their friendships.

Before long, Twitter users took the format and expanded on it by further editing the Squidwards, including their outfits and their numbers. The original caption, "When you have a friend," was also edited.

Some examples include a meme that shows eight Squidwards, captioned, "When you have a gathering," and a version where the two Squidwards look like the witches Elphaba and Glinda from Wicked, captioned, "When you have been changed for good," a reference to one of the musical's songs.

There's now a name for all the little things you take to bed with you before getting a good night's sleep, and it's called "Bedtime Stacking."

Bedtime Stacking first started spreading online in January 2026, but it saw a surge in popularity in the past week or so. The trend is all about the objects that you bring to bed to wind down before falling asleep.

Anything and everything can be included in a bedtime stack, including classics like a good book, a laptop, a journal and a nice warm beverage.

TikTokers love giving a name to everything we do in life, especially if it can be turned into a trend, and Bedtime Stacking is now trending.

Articles are being written by mainstream media outlets that list essential bedtime stack items, and TikToker are filming their bedtime stacks to share with others.

Now, there are even people trying to explain why Bedtime Stacking might be bad for you, an important part in the lifecycle of just about any TikTok trend these days.

Doorbell Chud

If you've been on Twitter for even a few minutes this week, you've probably seen the "Doorbell Chud," a man named Jason Thomas Nichols who was recorded breaking into someone's home in what's become a scary and unintentionally funny viral video.

The incident happened in early April, when Nichols wandered up to a neighbor's house and tried to force his way inside.

In the video, the Demon Slayer shirt-wearing man refers to himself as Harry Dresden, a character from The Dresden Files. He demands to get inside to reach the neighbor's daughter. Eventually, he breaks in, but is later subdued by the police, luckily with no one getting hurt.

While the break-in aspect is not funny, the man's appearance was quickly compared to the "Chudjak" meme (and Milhouse), and it's hard not to see the resemblance once it's been pointed out.

This resulted in a whole lot of edits of Nichols as Chudjak. Many of these memes play into other chud and Wojak-related memes, including "Gem and Coal" memes. The number of memes the video has inspired is staggering, making this one of the biggest memes of the month by far.

Hound Dog

Rock legend Elvis Presley is getting a bit of unexpected love over on TikTok, as a remix of his famous song "Hound Dog" goes viral with the brainrot crowd.

The remix itself is largely known as the "Elvis Presley minimal tech remix," and it was posted by TikToker @yup.bro.beatz at the beginning of April.

Over the past week or so, it's been receiving a lot of attention on TikTok, but not because it's some groundbreaking remix. In fact, a lot of people seem to hate it or simply find it funny, leading to its use in brainrot memes.

As a meme, the remix is being paired with absurd AI-generated videos, including a lot of videos featuring a distorted, caricature-like Elvis. Other memes feature classic brainrot characters like Tung Tung Tung Sahur, because apparently TikTokers still can't get enough of good ol' Triple-T.

It's a simple meme, but it's a big meme, making it one of the biggest standouts on TikTok this week.

Sabrina Carpenter Yodelling Reaction

Finally, pop star Sabrina Carpenter once again inspired discourse online after she had an interesting reaction to what she thought was someone yodelling during her Coachella set.

In the viral clip, someone in the crowd can be heard doing a Zaghrouta cheer while Carpenter sets up for her next song. Confused, she wonders what the "yodelling" is all about.

The person who cheered then explains that it's "her culture," and Carpenter dismisses it as "weird," making an unfortunate face that's now become a prevalent reaction meme of confusion and disgust.

People were quick to accuse Carpenter of being racist and insensitive for her reaction, while others defended her. However, Carpenter later responded with an apology, admitting her ignorance and making it known that she's since learned what a Zaghrouta is, but couldn't hear or see the person well during the interaction.

Regardless of her reaction, social media users were once again divided by the pop star as some took sides against her and some sided with her.

Ultimately, this also resulted in a ton of memes using Carpenter's face to express confusion, including a meme that reads, "When I show her my cool 'helicopter' trick," which both confused and delighted many.
