This week in memes, a goth girl named Pinkchyu made rapper Drake bark, the other members of the Cleveland Cavaliers became a meme about being useless, an AI-generated man's arrival in Japan inspired edits and more.

Here are five memes from the past week that you need to catch up on.

The Other Cavaliers

This week, an unaired Saturday Night Live skit from 2018 about "the other Cavaliers" resurfaced and became a big meme on TikTok and Reels.

In the skit, actors including Donald Glover, Kenan Thompson, Pete Davidson and Kyle Mooney play the members of the Cleveland Cavaliers NBA team who are not LeBron James, their star player.

The joke is that the other players are useless when it comes to basketball, because LeBron is all the team needs. Throughout the skit, they talk about all the things they can do besides playing basketball that make them useful for the team.

The skit was uploaded to the SNL YouTube page back in 2018 and then popped up on Instagram Reels as a meme in late July 2026. As a meme, the clip was used to call the members of a team in the game Marvel Rivals useless.

The meme spread across Instagram Reels and TikTok over the following weeks and really blew up in the first few weeks of August.

Essentially, users are attaching the video to images or clips of something considered useless or pointless and using the actors' dialogue to drive that point home.

Pinkchyu / Drake Goth Girl

One of the biggest stories of the week comes from a goth girl influencer who goes by Pinkchyu, who appeared on a dating game show on the Nelk YouTube channel this week and got rapper Drake to bark like a dog.

The dating game show had Drake go on speed dates with 20 women and choose a winner by the end. The winner ended up being a goth influencer and model named Lin Lamar, or Pinkchyu. During her speed date with Drake, she got him to bark like a dog in a clip that went viral across social media.

Drake also promised to buy Pinkchyu's mother a house as a prize for winning the show, which Pinkchyu claims Drake is following up on.

The dating show and viral barking clip helped spread Pinkchyu's name online and inspired some discourse and memes about Drake and goth influencers in general.

It also inspired a little bit of backlash toward Pinkchyu from a certain side of the internet, who dug up photos of her without makeup and started using them against her.

Regardless, with over 4 million combined followers on TikTok and X / Twitter and a big viral moment, Pinkchyu seems to be doing just fine in the internet landscape.

"U Sure?" Kid

One TikToker's cringeworthy comment and selfie became a massive exploitable and reaction meme on TikTok this past week after he said, "U sure?" to a woman's refusal to let him jiggle her thighs.

The comment was made in late July 2026 after TikToker @sydney_25108 posted a video asking if other viewers' legs get itchy when they go for a run.

TikToker Dixiegirl2011 responded with the funny comment, "Uhm my thighs jiggle when I run and it makes them itchy." A TikToker with the display name Oryx responded, "Dang can I jiggle them?" Dixiegirl2011 responded, "Uhm NO." Oryx then responded, "U sure?" with a selfie that was seemingly meant to suggest Oryx was too attractive to say no to. It did not work.

This undeniably cringeworthy exchange was picked up by TikTokers in the past week or so, who began sharing it in video edits on the app.

These edits don't just make fun of the exchange, but also feature edits of the selfie that alter the context. For example, an edit that turns Oryx into an old-timey gentleman, or an edit that turns him into an edgy cat boy.

Just Arrived In Japan

This week in the world of AI, an AI-generated image of a large man arriving in Japan, to the shock of the other airport attendees, went viral and became a big redraw format on social media.

The original meme was posted by TikToker @ag66_tt on August 3rd, 2026. The meme depicts the first-person POV of a large man in a fedora who arrives at the airport in Japan.

All the people in the airport look in horror at the man's arrival. The image is captioned, "Just arrived at the sweet motherland of Japan. I feel like I'm just in an anime."

This funny image spread around over the next few days and quickly became the subject of edits. These edits mainly replace the shadow of the man with another character's shadow, allowing the meme to fit into the context of a new fandom.

This has resulted in a ton of edits on places like Reddit, TikTok and more, including one viral edit that replaces the people in the airport with anthropomorphic characters.

Kinda Chic Trend

Finally, the "Kinda Chic" trend blew up on Instagram and TikTok after growing slowly over the past few months.

The Kinda Chic trend started to grow back in April 2026 and really ramped up in the past week. The trend is all about painting positive mental health and wellbeing practices and body positivity practices as being "chic," a word typically reserved for something fashionable and expensive.

While the trend got its start on Instagram Reels, it has now spread to TikTok, where it's resulted in a flood of viral videos that look to expand the idea of what it means to be chic.

Even celebrities are getting in on the trend now, including actress and talk show host Drew Barrymore, who posted a whole Instagram carousel of examples of what it means, in her opinion, to be chic.
