A TikTok by content creator GuessNotLost is garnering attention for proving how he can shockingly determine someone’s exact location just from a single photo.

In his latest viral video, he uses a photograph someone took of a corndog to determine where it was purchased, which is perhaps as equally impressive as it is scary.

GuessNotLost is a TikTok and Instagram creator whose content focuses on pinpointing people’s locations from the pictures they post online, proving how that can be achieved using today’s technological resources.

This skill, while undeniably interesting, also raises the question of how much privacy social media users actually have when posting their photos online.

GuessNotLost’s content often goes viral, especially when he correctly identifies a particularly tricky location.

One of his most recent videos, where he determines the exact spot where a random Twitter user bought a corndog, garnered over 17.1 million views on TikTok and 6.3 million views on Instagram in just a few days.

The video begins with GuessNotLost speaking over a screenshot of a tweet that reads, "I found the best corndog and I’m not telling anyone where it is," accompanied by a picture of a corndog with a few people walking on the street in the background.

"But you don’t have to tell us, because I already found it," GuessNotLost said after reading the tweet out loud in the clip.

First, GuessNotLost identified the poster’s location as being somewhere in Prague, Czechia, as the pavement was one that is very common in that city. He also pointed out that the road beside the street was made of cobblestone and that it had roadside parking spaces.

Focusing on the people walking on the street, GuessNotLost pointed out that one man was carrying a package and wearing a red-and-black uniform, which matched exactly with courier company DHL’s. He theorized that, because of this, there could be a DHL express point nearby, but his search for this proved unfruitful.

Without any other clues to rely on, GuessNotLost decided to do a grid search of all of Prague, eliminating the squares where the pavement didn’t match the one in the picture.

"Until finally, I found it," he said in his video, zooming in on the square that contained an exact match. "I noticed this pavement, which had the exact same cross pattern on it, right next to a cobblestone roadside parking, with the exact same trash can and kiosk as the picture," he said, before identifying the exact spot where the picture was taken.

"Funny enough, just a few steps behind that spot, there’s this place that sells corndogs," GuessNotLost concluded, while showing a Google Maps Street View screen recording of a Korean street food shop’s storefront.

He then showed a screenshot of the shop’s menu, with the poster’s order circled in red, adding, "You got the original with mozzarella in it, which comes out to 130 Czech koruna."

Many commenters were amazed at GuessNotLost’s skills, comparing him to the FBI or other intelligence agencies that are almost surely capable of similar feats.

Other users reacting to the video commented with photos of world-famous or otherwise obvious places, jokingly asking GuessNotLost to find them.

Some commenters also jokingly asked him to help them find a job, lost items or estranged family members.
