A woman has gone viral on Instagram for talking about the fire-themed gifts the dog toy subscription she uses sent her after her house burned down.

Following the tragic accident, the woman had contacted the subscription service, BarkBox, to cancel due to a lack of an address, and the company gifted her a box with these toys instead. In the comments, people joked about BarkBox’s terrible choice of theme.

Karli Breanne is an Instagram creator who mostly posts about her daily life and her experiences after her house burned down. In her bio, she states that she’s "romanticizing" her life "after the plot took an unexpected turn," and that her content is about "lifestyle, chaos and questionable decisions."

The second-ever video that Karli uploaded to this account, posted on August 26th, became her first-ever viral video, garnering over 2.5 million views, hundreds of thousands of likes and hundreds of comments in a month.

In the post, she explains that her dog toy subscription, BarkBox, gave her some "unexpected" gifts after her house burned down.

"So, my house burned down, and I had to contact BarkBox to cancel my subscription," Karli explained at the beginning of her video.

"The customer service rep was like, 'Oh, why are we canceling? Like, we're sorry to see you go," Karli explained, imitating the customer service representative's tone of voice and concern. "I was like, you guys didn't do anything wrong; I just don't have an address right now," she added.

However, the customer service representative made Karli an offer: "You know what? As soon as you guys get put up in a new place, you send me that new address, and we will send you a free BarkBox to replace all the dog toys you guys lost," Karli said, quoting the representative.

"So I got the box in the mail," she said, pulling said box into the frame, "and I want you guys to let me know if this was a coincidence or intentionally malicious," she said, laughing.

Karli proceeded to open the box and said that "the free toys they gave us are," she paused, before pulling out the first toy and holding it up to the camera.

"Roasting marshmallows," she said, laughing while showing a toy shaped like two marshmallows on a wooden stick, one of them on fire.

Karli then pulled out another toy and held it up to the camera. “And a fire," she said, eyebrows raised in amusement, as she showed a toy shaped like a campfire and laughed.

"Because my house burned down," she said, laughing, while she put both toys back in the cardboard box.

"BarkBox is savage," she wrote over the video’s thumbnail, "Anything helps, I guess 🤣," added in the caption.

In the comments, people laughed at BarkBox’s poor choice of dog toy gifts for Karli, with many implying they did it on purpose and were trying to be funny.

However, other BarkBox subscribers said that they had received a camp-themed box earlier that month, expressing that it was most likely a coincidence.

Some users also praised BarkBox for the brand's generosity in this and other cases, as the company is known for doing wholesome things such as refunding auto-orders in the event that a pet dies.
