'This One Takes The Cake': Realtor Shows Off One Of The Strangest Kitchen Features She's Ever Seen
A realtor from Texas is having a viral moment on Instagram for showing that there was nothing behind the kitchen cabinet doors of a house that she was selling.
The video also uses the trending “I hope you’re hungry, for nothing!” audio, adding to the post’s humor, with commenters making various puns and jokes about the peculiar lack of a cabinet on the post.
Heather Kerr is a Houston-based realtor who also creates content on social media. A lot of her content is related to her work as a realtor, but she also posts about her life and religion.
Her first viral moment happened recently, thanks to a video in which she showed the very unusual kitchen cabinet door with no actual cabinet behind it in a Pasadena house that she was selling.
The video, posted on September 22nd, has since garnered nearly 2 million views on Instagram, as well as 100,000 likes and over 500 comments.
Kerr's video starts with her showing what looks like a completely normal kitchen: Spacious, wooden floors, a white countertop and some wooden cabinets beneath it.
However, the text that Kerr has written over the video is the first clue to the fact that something may not be as it seems. "You never know what you'll find while showing properties," she writes, adding a crying emoji at the end.
"And here we go," says the trending audio she put over her video, as Kerr gets closer to one of the cabinets and begins to open it. "I hope you're hungry …"
However, when Kerr opens the first cabinet door, no cabinet is behind it, and she's met with just the counter's wooden side. "For nothing!" the audio finishes, as Kerr opens the other cabinet door to reveal more of the same flat, wooden surface.
Kerr shows the spot where the cabinet is supposed to be for a few seconds more, and then she closes both doors again. "At this point, nothing surprises me," she writes over the video, adding the smiling face with a sweat drop emoji and a house emoji.
"After 6 years in this industry, nothing surprises me," Kerr writes in the caption of her video. "But this one takes the cake."
Kerr added that she additionally found a gas leak earlier in the day, which also came close in terms of unpleasant discoveries for this property. "I love my job!" she concludes in the caption.
In the comments, people made puns and joked about the lack of a cabinet, with many comparing it to the fake pockets that are common in women’s clothing.
However, many pointed out that these fake cabinets could also be helpful for parents of toddlers, who are known to go "exploring" in places they shouldn't.
