A video of an influencer using an incredibly bright ring light at an Ariana Grande concert has gone viral on TikTok, sparking heated reactions and outrage online.

The influencer also posted a video of her own, claiming that "the Karens" weren’t letting her have fun at the concert. Both videos have since sparked backlash, and many people have posted videos criticizing her behavior.

Influencer @bushara.x is a British TikTok creator who makes content about her daily life, focusing mostly on fitness, fashion and going out. On August 23rd, she attended an Ariana Grande concert at the O2 Arena in London, England.

During part of the concert, she decided to film herself with a shockingly bright ring light, which, obviously, caught the attention of the people around her.

This led to another person filming her doing this, showing just how bright her light was, and posting the video on TikTok, where it racked up over 4.5 million views in a month and has since garnered widespread controversy.

In the video, Bushara can be seen filming herself with the incredibly bright light during the song "Break Free."

"Blud brought her full beam headlights to Ari and blinded everyone behind her," the original poster wrote over the video, "then refused to turn it off when asked," they added in the caption. Right next to her, a man can be seen covering the side of his face to shield himself from the light.

That video’s commenters largely agreed that Bushara was being rude to the concert-goers around her. "Concert etiquette and genuine vibing no longer exists at concerts," wrote one commenter. "Put your phone down, live in the moment."

This video attracted many users to Bushara’s original video of the same moment. In it, she shows herself lipsyncing to the song for 40 seconds. However, she also focused her video on how two women behind her reacted to her actions. Bushara has since restricted her original video following the outrage.

"POV: The Karens won’t let you have fun at a concert," she wrote over the video, adding, "Gosh can a girl have fun?" in the caption.

In the post, Bushara films herself, but her bright light also shows people in the background. Two women behind her can be seen, seemingly bothered by Bushara’s bright light.

First, one of the women taps Bushara on her shoulder, but she doesn’t react to this, continuing to lip-sync to the song. Then, the other woman says something to the first woman, and Bushara writes that they were saying bad things about her.

Then, Bushara edits the video to zoom in on the second woman’s face, who’s looking right at Bushara. After that, this woman takes out her phone, turns on the flashlight, and puts it briefly on Bushara’s face.

Bushara does turn around at this, but the woman has pulled back and is pretending to speak to another woman beside her, though her phone’s flashlight is still on.

Bushara notes the woman’s actions in text over the video, but she continues to film herself before turning her phone around to film the stage at the last second.

In the comments, people were angry at Bushara for thinking that there was no problem with her bringing such a bright light to a concert, and many made fun of her for it with screenshots from the previous video or by comparing her light to different types of absurdly bright lights.

Other commenters were annoyed at her for labeling the women behind her as "Karens," with many saying that they would’ve done the same as them or worse.

Another video that made the whole incident gain traction was one that was posted by TikToker @daadisnacks. In his video, which gained over 15 million views in less than a month, he shows the original video and then Bushara’s video edited together.

"This is why people treat influencers as guilty until proven innocent," Daadi says, "because what do you mean you blasted hundreds of people with the world’s brightest ring light and then made yourself out to be the victim?"

In the comments of Daadi’s video, people continued to make fun of Bushara, with many posting screenshots of her responses to comments on her own video.

Others also said that giving content creators the title of "influencer" was also contributing to the problem.
