The Disney Channel series A.N.T. Farm has become a major piece of nostalgia for kids who grew up in the 2010s, and now, a 2013 episode of the show is inspiring memes.

The clip, which some are referring to as "A.N.T. Farm Hatsune Miku," sees the show's character Chyna parody Vocaloid Hatsune Miku in a way that the people over on TikTok and X / Twitter can't get enough of.

So which episode does the scene come from, what does "watashi no nagai ponytail" mean and why is it going viral right now? Here's what you need to know.

What Is The 'Watashi No Nagai Ponytail' Meme?

In September 2013, A.N.T. Farm season three episode nine aired on the Disney Channel. In the episode, the character Chyna Parks loses a prototype "Z-Phone" cellphone to a man named Hashimoto. To get it back, she challenges him to a "duet battle," which sees the two dress up and perform competitively. Chyna chooses to dress up as none other than Hatsune Miku.

During the scene, Chyna catchily sings, "watashi no nagai ponytail," which roughly translates to, "My long ponytail." The scene proved popular with fans, gaining over 14 million views on the DisneyChannelUK YouTutbe channel over a decade. Then, it was posted to TikTok with the caption, "me after remembering every little thing in my favorite anime," sparking a meme.

How Is 'Watashi No Nagai Ponytail' Used In Memes?

Hatsune Miku has been a bit of a hot topic lately since Fortnite added the Hatsune Miku skin to the game's storefront. Considering this, many of the memes that have been popping up on TikTok and X reference the Fortnite skin in a variety of ways, including using Chyna's cosplay to represent their Fortnite characters.

Others have been posting videos about how much the video has been popping up on their For You Pages. Some of these videos use an anime eye filter to try and replicate the look of Miku. There are also people who are simply using the original sound for Chyna's song as a lip dub meme format, often to make jokes about loving Japanese culture.
