Woman Goes Viral After Discovering The Man She's Dating Has Her Saved As 'Cousin Andy,' Speculating She Was 'The Other Woman'
A woman has sparked viral discourse online after revealing how she discovered that a man she was dating was allegedly hiding their relationship from another woman.
During their date, she sent him a text message and noticed that he had saved her contact information under the name "Cousin Andy," leading her to suspect that he was attempting to conceal their interactions from a girlfriend or wife.
Her account of the suspicious discovery quickly went viral, garnering more than 1.8 million views on TikTok in approximately one month.
The story was shared by Emily, known online as @croupmushroom, a social media content creator who specializes in short, fast-paced storytime videos. Her content primarily consists of personal anecdotes about unusual, humorous or frustrating experiences, which she recounts directly to the camera.
Emily's straightforward delivery and tendency to get to the point quickly have become defining features of her videos, several of which have previously attracted widespread attention online.
One of Emily's latest videos follows her usual storytelling format, focusing on an uncomfortable realization she had while out on a date.
After noticing the unusual name attached to her contact information on the man's phone, she began questioning why he would disguise her identity rather than save her under her actual name.
Emily interpreted the discovery as evidence that he was supposedly already involved with someone else and was attempting to keep their date a secret, turning what might otherwise have been an ordinary romantic outing into another unexpected story for her followers.
Here's what happened in her viral post.

The video starts with Emily speaking to the camera while sitting on a couch in a dimly lit room.
"On a date with a man tonight," she says, "And as we were in his car, he asked me to text him something to remind him for later."
"So I did do that," Emily continues, "And then after I did that, I watched my notification pop up on his phone."
"And he had my name saved as Cousin Andy," Emily states, pausing and nodding.
"So," she says, "if your boyfriend or husband has been texting his cousin Andy a whole lot, that would be me."
"And if you go to jail, I will bail you out," Emily adds, "and I'm really sorry," she concludes.
In the comments, people complained about men who cheated on their girlfriends and expressed that they supported Emily for posting the video. Other commenters talked about the times they were in similar situations.
One particular comment brought up how odd it is that infidelity continues to happen in a society where open relationships and polyamorous relationships have become a little more common: "Cheating in 2026 is INSANE. There's poly people literally everywhere. If that's what you want go get it consensually. Break up with the monogamous person if that isn't your vibe. Like why is this hard for people?" they wrote.
In the following days, Emily also did a follow-up video, where she says that she found her date’s long-time girlfriend and told her what happened.
