Elon Musk married Canadian author Justine Wilson in 2000, who gave birth to a pair of twins in 2004 and triplets in 2006. Wilson and Musk divorced in 2008, however, they continued to share custody of their five children.^[9]

In 2022, one of the twins changed her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson after coming out as a trans woman, citing her new gender identity and her desire to stop being associated with Musk as the reason for her name change.^[8]

On March 9th, 2025, Vivian Wilson alleged that her father used sex-selective in vitro fertilization (IVF) to ensure the birth of male children.
