Elon Musk is seemingly crashing out over Twitch streamer Asmongold accusing him of being a fake gamer amid widespread accusations of Musk fraudulently inflating his gaming prowess in the last week.

The tech billionaire now appears to have unfollowed the streamer, removed his X verification badge and leaked their private DMs.

The move came days after several professional gamers, including World of Warcraft veteran and streamer Asmongold, accused Musk of faking his skills and rank in the RPG game Path of Exile 2.

Asmongold also called Elon Musk's impressive Diablo 4 rank into question, saying that if Musk could prove that he really earned his stripes on both games all by himself, he would start streaming on X / Twitter full time.

Earlier today, X user @ScreamheartTV posted a video in defense of Elon Musk, citing a time when he and his friends got a chance to play Diablo 4 with him.

Elon Musk then took the time to reply to @ScreamheartTV's post, writing, "Asmon behaves like a maverick 'independent', but in reality has to ask his boss for permission before he can do anything. He is not his own man," then proceeding to post a screenshot of his private conversation with Asmongold in which the streamer says that he needs to run key business decisions by his video editors.

Several X users also noticed that Asmongold lost his X verification badge around the time Musk posted these tweets, leading many to joke about the tech billionaire "crashing out" over Asmongold's comments.

The events come days after clips of Elon Musk bumbling around Path of Exile 2 in an overpowered, level 95 character went viral online.

The video quickly set off suspicions among Path of Exile 2 players and other gamers, many of whom accused Musk of hiring someone to "grind" at the game for him, only to take the credit for himself.
