Josh Hutcherson Appears On Jimmy Fallon And Confirms He's Aware Of The 'Whistle' Meme
In an appearance last night on Jimmy Fallon's The Tonight Show, Five Nights At Freddy's actor Josh Hutcherson confirmed what many have long hoped: He is aware of the massively viral "whistle edit" memes and thinks "the internet wins and wins."
In case you're unfamiliar with it, the Josh Hutcherson Whistle Edit is a meme made out of an over-the-top fancam edit of Hutcherson set to a cover of the Flo Rida song "Whistle."
They are "a montage of photos somebody did in 2014 set to a song," Hutcherson told Fallon, "and now it's like a Rickroll basically."
The original video was made in 2014 by a thirsty fan of Hutcherson, but in November 2023, it picked up steam on TikTok as an absurd piece of media that netizens delighted in throwing into various situations as it spread across the internet.
Edits placed the video on the flat surfaces of various objects, surprised unsuspecting friends with a Whistle Edit, and delighted in the overall strangeness of the edit.

Hutcherson said the meme was explained to him by his little brother and his little brother's boyfriend, who sat him down during the holidays and walked him through it all — the time-honored duty the very-online perform for those of us who are less online.
