London is about to create the Torment Nexus by making a plot point in the dystopian Blade Runner 2049 a reality, as the company Layered Reality is working to bring a holographic, AI-controlled performance of the late Elvis Presley to the stage.

This means that soon, a crowd of British concert-goers can have an experience very similar to this scene:

The Layered Reality website says its new show Elvis Evolution will take attendees through the life of the late King of Rock and Roll, which will include holographic performances of the star.

"Through AI and groundbreaking tech you’ll be able to witness iconic Elvis performances as if you were really there, and celebrate defining moments in Elvis Presley’s extraordinary life and career," the advertisement reads.

As has almost always been the case when people use artificial intelligence to exhume the dead, many people were very weirded out by what Layered Reality was promising.

Still, not everyone was weirded out at the idea, and some expressed interest in attending the concert. Some felt it could be similar to the ABBA Voyage concert, which used AI to make versions of the ABBA members as they did decades ago.

Others still had ideas of what the revived Elvis might sound like.
