It just wouldn't be the holidays if bandwidth wasn't dedicated to criticizing and debating how the First Lady of the United States decorates the White House for Christmas, and this year, Jill Biden has received heavy criticism from some for a video in which she invited tap dancers to perform a jazzy interpretation of The Nutcracker Suite.

The viral video features tappers from Dorrance Dance performing through areas of the colorfully decorated White House. This, ultimately, proved quite controversial.

From the right, criticism was levied at the brightly colored extravaganza, with some going so far as to call it trans propaganda due to the colorful costumes.

Fox News dedicated a segment to the performance, during which Greg Gutfeld called the tap dancers a "Marxist organization" and ran through why he felt the causes the troupe supported were harming America.

Many conservatives pulled out old Melania Trump Christmas Decorations as an example of how Christmas celebrations should be done. Of note, Melania's 2017 decorations were widely memed as dystopian and was later quoted as saying Who give a -- about Christmas?

Some on the left weren't huge fans of the video either, though often it seemed they cared more about social causes that the Biden administration was not addressing rather than the content of the video itself.

take_japper's take Condemn this before hamas.

This isn't the first time Jill Biden has come under fire for her Christmas decorations either. She faced similar criticism in 2021, though her decorations that year were much more conservative than this year's Nutcracker-themed decor. One wonders if Americans will ever agree on whether the White House puts up good Christmas decorations on any given year.
