YouTuber Tobuscus Claims 'A Minecraft Movie' Referenced Him, But Fans And Viewers Are Saying Otherwise

Famous Minecraft YouTuber Tobuscus has claimed in a new viral video that A Minecraft Movie referenced him at one point when a character exclaimed, "Son of a biscuit!" during a scene in the new film.

"Biscuit" is undoubtedly one of the YouTuber's catchphrases, most notably featured in his viral 2011 song "Nugget in a Biscuit," which was arguably one of the first Minecraft "brainrot" memes, well before Chicken Jockey or any of the other Minecraft Movie quotes.

"You are looking at a guy who just got REFERENCED IN THE MINECRAFT MOVIE," wrote Tobuscus (real name Toby Turner) in a tweet posted on Saturday.

The attached video showed Turner outside of the theater, telling viewers, "All of a sudden, Jack Black goes … 'Son of a biscuit! Do you like my sword?' Something like that. I just blacked out as soon as I heard, 'Son of a biscuit.'"

A viral quote tweet of the post, shared by X user @mfnamedquinn, humorously countered Turner's claim. "This did NOT happen 😭😭😭," they wrote with several crying emojis. The post received a whopping 40,000 likes compared to Turner's 9,000.

However, despite the user's claim, others said that, "Son of a biscuit," was one of Jack Black's lines in the film. "He did say, 'Son of a biscuit,' but he did not follow it up with, 'Do you like my sword?'" wrote one X user, referring to the other famous Tobuscus song, "I Can Swing My Sword!" that the YouTuber said he heard after "blacking out" from excitement.

Other X users echoed the same claim, while @mfnamedquinn admitted that they hadn't seen the movie yet.

Perhaps Tobuscus was right and that the Minecraft movie writers decided to honor his legacy like they did with late Minecraft YouTuber Technoblade. The scene in question showed Steve (Jack Black) encountering a crowned pig, akin to the beloved YouTuber's iconic in-game skin.

Unlike the purported Tobuscus reference, the film's writers confirmed that Technoblade's was intentional. Collider spoke to director Jared Hess, who said that actor Sebastian Hansen, who plays Henry in the film, suggested honoring the deceased YouTuber somehow.

Tobuscus wanted to add himself to the list of easter eggs in the film, but he received overwhelmingly negative reactions. This is mostly because he was canceled in 2016 when multiple women came forward, accusing him of heinous acts.

Tobuscus also ostracized many fans when his politics seemingly shifted to the right. This notably came to light when he collaborated with Kenosha, Wisconsin shooter turned controversial talking head Kyle Rittenhouse back in 2022.

Tobuscus posted several photos and a vlog with Rittenhouse at the time, showing themselves handling Nerf guns.

For now, everyone's awaiting director Jared Hess's statement on the matter. Perhaps there are more Minecraft YouTuber references hidden away, yet to be discovered.
